As part of their infrastructure plan Waikato Regional Council wanted to upgrade the switchboard and control equipment for the drainage scheme at The Motukaraka swamp reclamation. The equipment were at the end of life and required replacement to comply with current regulations.
CTEK was contracted by Downer to complete control system works as per the specifications issued by Council.
CTEK provided all coding/simulation/FAT of FDs provided by the Council. New Siemens S7-1200 PLC and other hardware was used. This new hardware was successfully integrated with the controls compartment of the main switchboard. The control system now provides all necessary control facilities, protection functions, alarm handling, communications and the like.
