CTEK was contracted by a multinational client to design and implement PLC integrated paperless run sheets and communication sheets used in its extruder lines. The project was aimed at managing their documentation with the help of an MES system to speed up all their approval processes and detect errors immediately.
Scope of supply included development of FD, PLC code, and the implementation of a Cloud based Factory Frontier Platform. CTEK developed a operator module and supervisor module based on the Factory Frontier technology developed by Tulip.
The developed operator module reduced human intervention on daily routines
The supervisor module allowed users to view and monitor each individual line in real time.
In addition, CTEK generated the PLC code for automatically capture each line state and output. Production Order and Finished product roll details were automatically calculated by the PLC. Tulip’s On Premise Host Connector component was installed as a docker container on client’s infrastructure. It facilitated as a single point communication for Cloud and Ignition software (and vice versa).
Ignition OPC AU and SQL Bridge was installed on the clients’ infrastructure which serves as gateway to the PLC. An additional PLC concentrator is installed on the client’s infrastructure serves as a hub for Ignition and the Extruder Lines.
