In 2013 OCD made a decision to replace their eight Tetra Tebel OST vats to meet increased demand from export markets.
This increase in Cheese production capacity also required significant process modification to the plants existing Milk Reception Area, Skim, Cream and Whey Handling, as well as upgrades to the Curd Handling and packaging area.
CTEK developed a recipe system that allows flexibility to alter the operation of the vats, whilst ensuring that the curd from each vat is produced in a consistent and repeatable manner. The project was completed in a fairly short timeframe and opportunities were taken to improve or increase production capacity throughout the project timeline.
CTEK was able to increase the project team size to meet the project demands and deadlines and achieve a result that has vastly improved the plant throughput and ongoing operational maintenance costs.
